Niger Documents Online

I have found a source for viewing the Niger Documents. If you aren't familiar with Cryptome.org I suggest you give it a visit. Are these the real thing? I don't know for certain, but they appear to be. Of course, the "real things" weren't real at all. They were forgeries. There are translations included. I found them interesting. I realize these are old news for most, but they bear a fresh look.

Woodward a Hired Hack?

I'm not a professional journalist, but when I was in J-school one of the things that was stressed was objectivity. The job of the journalist was to report events, not take creative license with them. After watching Bob Woodward on Larry King Live on Fitzmas Eve I have come to the conclusion that he can no longer be considered a journalist. He's a novelist and a hired writer for the White House. I haven't read his books, but I hear his fiction improves with each attempt.

Indictment

I am a little disappointed that this is all that we see from Fitzgerald after two years. I understand anything more serious would have been difficult if not impossible to prove. Here are some links for those of you who like to read.

5 Counts against Libby

CNN seems to be behind the game. Talkleft.com has reported that Scooter Libby faces 5 counts and according to ABC News Libby has his boxes packed and is ready to resign after announcment is made. Talk Left is here

Waiting....will Fitzmas actually happen?

I am waiting as patiently as possible. I have been periodically checking my favorite blogs and it seems they are all waiting to post. I have already been disappointed at the idea of Rove getting off easy for the time being.

Rove Not Indicted?

It appears that Karl Rove may have slipped through the fingers of those investigating the Plame leak. It isn't official yet, but early reports show he will remain under investigation, but will not recieve an indictment in this round. Damn

I'm hoping there will be more than the one indictment. I think it's sad that Refukuplicans think that avoiding indictments on releasing the identity of a covert operative is a win for them. They obviously don't mind telling lies and they don't seem to be taking seriously what happens when you do lie under oath. Did they not learn anything from Clinton?

Harriet Miers Gives Up

I have to wonder if poor Harriet had any idea what she was getting into in the first place. I would love to be able to celebrate yet another pile of stinky poo in the White House Rose Garden, but I am waiting with very little patience for that OTHER shoe to drop.

Some sources in DC are saying 5 indictment letters went out but news sources seem to be sticking to the one or two indictment theory. I don't know how reliable the first source is (not my own personal source, sorry) that is saying 5 indictment letters have been issued, but my bottle of champagne is on ice.

Tom Delay

I can't quite explain the giddy feeling that came over me when I heard of Tom Delay's indictment. That didn't compare to the elation I felt when I heard he had been arrested and had a mugshot and finger prints on file. It appears that not only will the Bush White House suffer tremendous embarrassment in his second term, but the Republican Party will suffer as well.

Do I think Delay is guilty? I don't know and I don't care. If the Refukuplicans can bog down government with the White Water investigation then I think it's only fair that they are faced with their own hurdles at some point in time. It appears that the time has arrived.
